La keynote dur\u00f3 cerca de 2 horas(ver abajo), <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/intl\/es-419\/noticias-de-la-empresa\/tecnologia\/sundar-pichai-io-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la lider\u00f3 Sundar Pichai<\/a> en Mountain View, California, y casi todo el contenido gir\u00f3 alrededor de la inteligencia artificial.<\/p>\n<p>Pichai abri\u00f3 con cifras que explican el tama\u00f1o de la apuesta. Gemini ya supera los 900 millones de usuarios activos mensuales, el doble que el a\u00f1o pasado, y Google tiene 13 productos con m\u00e1s de 1.000 millones de usuarios cada uno. Hace 10 a\u00f1os la compa\u00f1\u00eda decidi\u00f3 reorientarse hacia la IA, y este evento mostr\u00f3 hasta d\u00f3nde lleg\u00f3 esa decisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El motor de todo es un modelo nuevo, <a href=\"https:\/\/deepmind.google\/models\/model-cards\/gemini-3-5-flash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gemini 3.5 Flash<\/a>. Google afirma que es 4 veces m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que otros modelos de su categor\u00eda y que supera a la versi\u00f3n anterior en todas las pruebas. Ya funciona en la app de Gemini y en el modo IA de Google Search.<\/p>\n<p>Sobre ese modelo se construye la parte m\u00e1s interesante del evento. Hasta ahora la IA respond\u00eda preguntas. Lo que Google present\u00f3 esta vez es una IA que hace tareas por ti. El nombre es Gemini Spark. Corre las 24 horas en servidores dedicados y se conecta con Google Workspace y con herramientas de terceros. Puede limpiar tu bandeja de entrada, cancelar suscripciones, preparar res\u00famenes de reuniones o armar digestos de noticias que siguen una historia en el tiempo. Trabaja en segundo plano y te pide permiso antes de ejecutar algo importante. Este cambio, de asistente a agente, es probablemente el dato m\u00e1s relevante del a\u00f1o para Google.<\/p>\n<p>La creaci\u00f3n de contenido tambi\u00e9n dio un salto. Gemini Omni <a href=\"https:\/\/didi.com.bo\/blog\/top-generadores-de-video-con-ia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">genera video a partir de texto<\/a>, fotos, audio o video, y permite editar el resultado conversando con el sistema. La primera versi\u00f3n, Omni Flash, ya est\u00e1 disponible para suscriptores de pago y gratis dentro de YouTube Shorts. En paralelo, Google sum\u00f3 herramientas para crear m\u00fasica en Flow y dos novedades visuales llamadas Google Pics y Stitch.<\/p>\n<p>La b\u00fasqueda, el producto que define a Google, se reconstruy\u00f3 alrededor de la IA. La caja de b\u00fasqueda ahora acepta fotos y videos, y los modos <em>AI Overviews<\/em> y <em>AI Mode<\/em> se fusionaron en una sola experiencia que se despliega hoy a nivel global. Hubo adem\u00e1s un anuncio comercial concreto: Universal Cart, <a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/tecnologia\/carrito-universal-google-compras-ia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un carrito de compras con IA<\/a> que funciona en Search y en la app de Gemini.<\/p>\n<p>Lo mismo pas\u00f3 con las apps de trabajo. Docs Live deja crear y editar documentos hablando, y puede traer informaci\u00f3n desde Gmail, otros archivos y la web. Una de las cosas interesantes es Ask YouTube, que permite preguntar como a un chatbot y te lleva al minuto exacto del video con la respuesta, se expande pronto a m\u00e1s usuarios.<\/p>\n<p>El hardware fue la otra cara del evento. Google confirm\u00f3 sus primeras gafas de audio Android XR para este oto\u00f1o, con navegaci\u00f3n, lectura de notificaciones, traducci\u00f3n en tiempo real y la opci\u00f3n de tomar fotos en primera persona. Las gafas funcionan junto a un tel\u00e9fono Android, usan Gemini 2.5 Pro y llegan con socios como Samsung, XREAL, Warby Parker y Gentle Monster. Es el lanzamiento f\u00edsico m\u00e1s concreto que mostr\u00f3 la compa\u00f1\u00eda en a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Detr\u00e1s de todo esto hay un gasto enorme. Alphabet planea invertir entre 175.000 y 185.000 millones de d\u00f3lares en infraestructura durante 2026, casi el doble que en 2025. D\u00edas antes del evento, <a href=\"https:\/\/es-us.finanzas.yahoo.com\/noticias\/google-blackstone-lanzar%C3%A1n-empresa-nube-104849067.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google y Blackstone anunciaron una sociedad de c\u00f3mputo en la nube<\/a> con una inversi\u00f3n inicial de 5.000 millones de d\u00f3lares para ofrecer los chips TPU de Google como servicio. La IA que se presenta en escena necesita centros de datos detr\u00e1s, y esa factura ya es visible en los balances.<\/p>\n<p>Vale se\u00f1alar un detalle de estrategia. Android, que durante a\u00f1os fue el protagonista de I\/O, casi no apareci\u00f3 en la keynote principal. Google cubri\u00f3 Android 17 una semana antes en un evento separado para dejar todo el escenario central a Gemini. Eso dice mucho sobre las prioridades de la empresa.<\/p>\n<p>El balance del mensaje es directo: Google deja de tratar la IA como una funci\u00f3n dentro de sus productos y ahora es el centro de todo.
